Why the Science Fair?
The science fair offers an incredible range of benefits for students who participate. They can gain hands-on experience in crucial academic subjects like writing, mathematics, public speech, and- of course- science. Even further than school itself, students can develop their problem-solving abilities, analytical skills, organizational abilities, and long-term time management.
The science fair is a great way to win monetary awards, obtain scholarships, and bolster a resume or college application. Yet the benefits from the experience far exceed physical prizes. Even if it's just for one year, the science fair is a worthwhile and enriching experience for all who choose to participate!
So How Can I Help?
Since 6th grade, I've participated in the science fair, winning national and international awards which ultimately resulted in college-level research at Rowan University. I have a passion for science and would love to foster that same feeling in other students. Going through the science fair, I didn't have a mentor or any precedents to go by. I would love to offer that help to young students. I can aid in brainstorming, help developing experimental techniques, offer procedural advice, and help introduce students to other science opportunities all free of charge.
